Food for Thought

I discovered today that spiritual battles are actually a good thing. God wants us to grow in Him so he puts us on the front lines, and boy do you feel crushed sometimes, but that is when he picks you back up. This song has really helped me a lot! Enjoy!!

ARGH!

Monday Night I was asked a very interesting question: "What is the purpose of debate to me?" My first thought was To have fun and hang out with Friends. REALLY?!?! Am I SERIOUS. I know I have posted about this before but it is a good reminder. Why are you doing what you are doing. I often times will find myself doing stuff for the FUN of it. THE FUN OF IT? Why were we put here on earth? What is mans primary purpose? To glorify God and enjoy him forever. To truly glorify God, I need him first in every thing. EVERYTHING! I don't do that. I am a very sinful person. I need God to take control of my life, instead of my trying to head for Him 'cus it WON'T work. Have God put Himself first in your life.

Ever feel like you are dry and tasteless? Yah well spiritually I feel that way right now.

Courageous

Just recently there was released a new movie in the theaters ::applause:: This movie is called Courageous. Now it is not a war were everyone dies left and right. It does involve a lot of action though. It shows the meaning of being a parent, or more specifically a father. There are these police officers who decide to follow God and be the Best fathers they ever could be. It is a very touching movie. It makes you cry many times, as well as laugh your pants off. I know it touched me with its message. First off: I am very glad I have my father and that he knows to an extent, what he is doing. He knows he needs to raise me to be the man I will eventually be. He knows that if he doesn't guide me to make God first in my life, his role on this earth has failed. This movie made me appreciate him all that much more. Second: It made me want to grow up in the same regard. I want to become the man God made me to be, as well as Become a good father when the time comes. I must always follow in His path. It made me want to take up the resolution that the Main Characters in the movie signed. It made me want to follow God with my heart and eventually teach my (Future) children to do the same.


This is the resolution that those men signed:

I WILL be faithful to my wife, to love and honor her, and be willing to lay down m life for her as Jesus Christ did for me.

I WILL seek to honor God, be faithful to His church, obey His Word and do His will.

I WILL courageously work with the strength God provides to fulfill this resolution for the rest of my life and for His glory.
